The workshop aims to share and discuss most recent results of various international research initiatives in the area of communication systems for aerial wireless networks. The focus of the workshop will be solely based on projects and research aiming at civilian applications.

The 3rd International Workshop on OMNeT++ (OMNeT++ 2010) is a one day
workshop to be held in conjunction with the Third International
Conference on Simulation Tools and Techniques (SIMUTools 2010). The
workshop will take place in Malaga, Spain.
The goal of this workshop is to bring together OMNeT++ users and their
tools, applications and ideas. It intends to provide a forum for
presentations of recent developments and novel ideas in the broad
context of network simulation with focus on OMNeT++. It will bring
together researchers to focus on the important topics of integrating
simulation models, coupling different simulation tools, providing
better modeling approaches, and contributing to the active modeling and
simulation community with respect to identifying some of the most
promising candidate solution methods, architectures and techniques to
address the various challenges of network simulation.

Die von Dipl.-Ing. T. Tran auf einer Konferenz des renommierten IEEE präsentierte Veröffentlichung stellt ein Verfahren vor, mit dem der sichere Zugang unterschiedlicher Hilfsorganisationen zu einem mobilen Notfallinformationssystem beschleunigt werden kann. In der bereits im Juli von Dipl.-Ing. B. Niehöfer auf einer internationalen Satellitenkommunikationskonferenz vorgestellten Veröffentlichung wird ein neuartiges Verfahren zur dynamischen Erstellung von hochaktuellem Kartenmaterial auf der Basis von anonymisierten Bewegungsprofilen von Mobilfunkteilnehmern beschrieben.

Das Communication Networks Institute veranstaltet am 01.09.2009 im Rahmen des Future Internet Symposiums 2009 (FIS2009) den Internationalen Workshop "Future Internet of Things and Services - Web Services for Pervasive Devices - FITS 2009". Der Workshop wird in Zusammenarbeit mit allen Konsortialpartnern des IST-MORE Projekts aus dem 6. Rahmenprogramm der Europäischen Union veranstaltet. Mit AVIGLE wird eine multifunktionale, avionische Serviceplattform erforscht, die mit Hilfe von autonomen Flugrobotern (sog. Micro Unmanned Aerial Vehicles - MUAV) in den Hightech-Disziplinen 3D-Virtualisierung sowie ad-hoc Funkversorgung späteren Anwendern vollkommen neuartige Dienste mit erheblichen Kosten- und Qualitätsvorteilen bieten wird. AVIGLE ermöglicht einerseits die effiziente 3D-Erfassung und Virtualisierung von Einzelgebäuden, Siedlungen und ganzen Regionen in Echtzeit. Andererseits adressiert das AVIGLE-Projekt die temporäre Ergänzung von Funknetzen bei Großveranstaltungen, Netzausfällen oder Rettungseinsätzen mit Hilfe von zivilen Kleinstdrohnen.
