In der aktuellen Juni-Ausgabe des renommierten IEEE Journals of Selected Areas in Communications (JSAC) ist ein Artikel von Autoren des Lehrstuhls veröffentlicht worden. Die Veröffentlichung eines Artikels in der international am häufigsten zitierten Fachzeitschrift im Bereich Telekommunikation ist eine besondere Anerkennung der Forschungsleistung des Lehrstuhls. Die Herausgeber des Special Issues charakterisieren den Beitrag im einleitenden Editorial wie folgt: "In the paper "Role-Based Connectivity Management with Realistic Air-to-Ground Channels for Cooperative UAVs" the authors Goddemeier, Daniel, Wietfeld introduce the results of their investigation of communications-aware steering algorithms for collaborative UAVs. The key objective of their work is to support maximum spatial coverage whilst simultaneously optimising the controlled mobility of the UAVs to maintain connectivity with a central sensor data sink. Their experimental results provide a detailed realistic aerial channel characterisation with network dimensioning analysis with varying numbers of micro-unmanned aerial vehicles and ground stations."
