Tasks
To conduct research in the area of Mobility Management and fast & seamless handover for mobile nodes and mobile networks in IPv6 based Heterogonous Wireless Networks (or the Next Generation Networks). The research is related to my PhD and linked to the MobisPro project.
As part of the research, a comprehensive, sophisticated, accurate and realistic simulation framework has been developed for modeling Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) based mobility management protocols (like Fast MIPv6 (FMIPv6), Hierarchical MIPv6 (HMIPv6) and Network Mobility (NEMO) Basic Support Protocol (NBSP)) in the OMNeT++ simulation environment, which is a C++ based discrete event simulation engine. This simulation model is called "Extensible MIPv6 (xMIPv6) Simulation Engine" and a limited version of this simulation model that simulated MIPv6 protocol will be released to the public very soon.
