Abstract: Most routing protocols for wireless mesh networks WMNs were designed without security in mind. Retrofitting cryptosystems to secure network transmission without securing the routing protocol itself is not sufficient. It makes WMN prone to wide range of attacks, i.e. impersonation, injection of forged routing information, etc. Without a satisfactory level of security, users lack motivation to subscribe to wireless services. Therefore, in WMN with security needs, there must be two security systems: One to protect the data transmission and one to make the routing protocol secure.

Simulation-based Performance Evaluation of PASER
In this work, we address secure routing protocols in Wireless LAN Mesh Networks (WMNs). For that purpose, we investigate in simulation a novel approach: Position Aware Secure and Efficient Route Discovery for Wireless Mesh Networks (PASER) in terms of performance. The main objective of is this work is thus to efficiently implement PASER in OMNeT++ and to evaluate its performance in a RPS-OMNeT++ scenario adopted from rescue and relief operations.

Efficient Linux Implementation of PASER on Embedded Systems
