• Optimization of 4G networks for mission critical communications
• IP overlay network for mission critical group communication
• System- and gateway design for heterogeneous PMR (TETRA) and IP based next generation mobile networks (4G)
• Fairness and QoS in mission critical communications
• Geo-routing in multi-hop PMR networks
• Analytical and multiscale simulative performance analysis of networks with heterogeneous structures
• Security in communication networks and security engineering

Possible Thesises

All possible thesises deal with the system design for a coupled PMR - IP based mobile network (4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, WiMAX, satellite link). You could either deside to work on a simulation based on OMNeT++ or you can build up prototypes for real world measurements (C++, JAVA, iOS, Qt)

Possible titlescould be:

• Performance analysis and optimazation of a group communication server in a heterogeneous architecture (analytical model and simulation)
• Integration of specific group communication services (enhanced direct mode) in 4G networks (simulation)
• Design and performance evaluation of a geo-routing algorithm for resource restriced mashed PMR networks (simulation)
